A boutique reformer and infrared Pilates studio in Broughton Astley, just a few miles south of Leicester. With the soft warmth of infrared heat, we’re a space shaped around considered movement and class styles, helping you work towards a more settled nervous system.
It's our belief that balance isn't about stillness. It's about knowing when to push, when to move with ease and when to step back. Wellness isn't found in a single practice or mindset, but in the ability to shift between intensity, flow and rest as life demands.
Sojourn invites you to safely explore that shift, with class styles that reflect the rhythm of life. Ignite is the fire, the focus, the controlled intensity that builds resilience. Flow is presence in motion, the space where effort and ease exist in harmony. Pause is the art of slowing down, the moment to reset, reflect and restore.
Across our styles, we offer nearly 30 reformer Pilates classes a week, with the inclusion of gently heated infrared sessions designed to support nervous system balance, ease muscles and soften deeper stretches.
At Sojourn, we honour both strength and softness, because real wellness isn't about doing more, it's about doing what matters at the right time.
We're called Sojourn because that's what we hope to be: your pause.

Pause
A slower-paced, restorative reformer Pilates class designed to help you reset and recharge. This session blends deep stretching, breathwork and gentle strengthening to improve mobility, release tension and restore balance. Perfect for days when you want to move without intensity, or as active recovery alongside other training.

Flow
Where form meets fluidity, combining breath-led movement with controlled resistance to build strength, mobility and balance. This class focuses on intentional, precise movements that enhance core stability, postural alignment and coordination. Each session is designed to challenge without overwhelming, helping you build strength and connection over time.

A dynamic, full-body reformer Pilates class where strength meets precision. Faster-paced and more challenging, Ignite blends coordinated transitions and advanced variations to push your endurance, control and focus. Designed for those ready to step beyond their foundation and explore their edge.

Absolutely. Most of our clients were once brand new to reformer Pilates. You don't need any prior experience to join. Our small-group classes are designed to help you build strength, confidence and connection at your own pace, with form, breath and control at the centre of everything we do.

Flow and Pause are both great options for beginners. Each introduces you to the reformer, the Pilates principles and the mind-body-breath connection that underpins all movement at Sojourn. If you'd prefer to begin slower in a beginner-only group, our Basics class on Sundays at 10am is the ideal entry point.

Reformer Pilates uses a spring-resisted carriage that provides both support and resistance, refining form and building strength, stability and coordination. Mat Pilates uses your own body weight for resistance, developing control and mobility without equipment. At Sojourn we specialise in reformer in our Broughton Astley studio, with mat and Barre coming soon through Sojourn on-demand.

Infrared Pilates isn't a traditional hot class. The heat comes from infrared panels that warm the body directly, like natural sunlight, rather than heating the air. Classes are set to temperatures up to 38°C, supporting circulation, flexibility and recovery while remaining comfortable enough to move with focus.

Whatever you feel comfortable moving in. Form-fitting clothing helps your instructor see your alignment, but comfort is key. Grip socks are required for all reformer classes (available in-studio from £5) and a small towel is useful for heated sessions.
